About Me
Hello, I'm Freya Marlowe, a creative director based in London and the founder of Tessellate Design Lab. For ten years I've helped studios, clinics, publishers and startups look like the best version of themselves.
I started as a print designer, learned the web the hard way, and now lead branding and website projects end to end — strategy, words, design and direction. My work has been featured in design journals, recognised with international awards, and, more importantly, still earns its keep for clients years after launch.
Tessellate is deliberately small: me, plus a trusted crew of developers, animators and photographers I have worked with for years. You always talk to the person doing the thinking.
Where I've worked
- Founder & Creative Director, Tessellate Design Lab. Independent practice since 2019 — branding, websites and campaigns for clients across Europe.
- Design Lead, Studio North (2015–2019). Led digital projects for cultural and commercial clients; built the studio's design system practice.
- Designer, Field & Form (2013–2015). Print-first design for publishers, galleries and fashion — where the obsession with type began.
